The Economic Development Commission shall be responsible to the Town Council and shall annually prepare and transmit to the Town Council a report of its activities and recommendations for improving economic conditions and development. Economic Development Commission members are appointed to serve for a 4 year term.

- Examples of Duties:
- Conduct research into the economic condition and trends in the Town of Montville
- Make recommendations to appropriate Town of Montville officials and agencies regarding action to improve its economic condition and development.
- Seek to coordinate and cooperate with unofficial bodies organized to promote such economic development.
- May contact and cooperate with official bodies of other municipalities to promote such economic development.
- May advertise, prepare, print and distribute books, maps, charts and pamphlets to further its official purposes.
- Shall have such other powers and duties as may be conferred upon it by the Town Council.
