**Transfer Station Attendants – $9.60/hr Per Diem Position – Public Works
Weekend availability a must, occasional fill–in on weekdays.Clean CT driver’s license and background, ability to interact with courtesy and respect. Will assist residents with proper disposal of solid waste and recycling items.


Town Clerk’s Office – $25.45/hour– 40 hours Monday through Friday – 8:00AM-4:30PM with ½ hour unpaid lunch.  Union position with Benefits.
DUTIES:  Performs highly responsible, clerical, technical and administrative work involving the recording of and administration of land, vital statistics and election documents for the Town Clerk’s Office.  Work involves the performance of and responsibility for the storage and retrieval of documents, maps, records, and files and the administration of application and filing procedures.  Duties include receiving, recording, filing, copying and indexing documents, recording voter and election information. Issuing licenses and permits, and making routine records management technical decisions.  The work requires that the employee have considerable knowledge, skill, and ability in every phase of the records management responsibilities of a Town Clerk’s office and the ability to serve as the Acting Town Clerk, when so designated.  The position requires the exercise of independent judgment, initiative, and accuracy.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Thorough knowledge of the laws, regulations, and procedures to the office of the Town Clerk, working knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration as applied to the specialized field of the duties and responsibilities of a Town Clerk’s office; working knowledge of office practices and procedures, records management techniques – including legal requirements for recording, retention and disclosure, knowledge of office equipment (e.g. document scanner, copier, personal computer). Also the candidate should be knowledgeable in word processing and spreadsheet applications and have a thorough knowledge of English, grammar, punctuation, and arithmetic.  They should have considerable ability to record, organize, and maintain records with accuracy.  We are searching for a candidate who has the ability to express thoughts orally and through written communication, they should be detail-oriented, and be able to work effectively with Town Officials, Public officials, and residents and the general public.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS – High School Diploma and 4 years related experience or any equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience which provides a demonstrated ability to perform the duties of the position.  Must have Certified Municipal Town Clerk certification OR must complete within 5 years of commencing employment.  MUST BE BONDABLE.  Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver’s license.

**Maintainer I – Public Works
