SUMMER CAMP COUNSELORS 

Seasonal position beginning in mid-June and continuing through August 7th.  40 hours per week, pay range from minimum wage to $11.00/hour.  Responsibilities include planning and executing daily activities for the campers, accurate attendance records, leading group activities for children ages 5-12 years old, supervision of group at all times and dealing with camper conflicts.  Must work well with other staff members and children.  Applicants should have experience in dealing with children. A friendly demeanor is essential in maintaining an optimum camp experience.

 Applicants must be able to pass a CPR/First Aid class prior to the start of camp.  The Department will provide the training.  Please submit application to the Parks & Recreation Department, 310 Norwich-New London Turnpike, Uncasville, CT 06382.  Application can be downloaded from the website or picked up in the Parks & Recreation offices.  Job will be posted until April 14th.

ARTS & CRAFTS COORDINATOR        

Seasonal position beginning in mid-June and continuing through August 7th.  35-40 hours per week, pay range from $12.50-$15.00/hour.

Applicants must have experience with all types of arts and crafts media and have experience in dealing with children. A friendly demeanor is essential in maintaining an optimum camp experience.  Pre-season planning is essential for success.  Applicant must be able to plan each themed-week projects prior to the start of camp which begins in mid-June.

Part Time Administrative Assistant, WPCA Office

$16.94 per hour – 19.5 hours Monday through Friday - hours to be determined by Administrator.

Performs a variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative work in keeping official records, providing administrative support to the WPCA Administrator and assisting in the administration of the standard operating policies and procedures of that office, all in accordance with the Connecticut State Statutes governing such functions/departments. There is some cash handling required and payment processing. Qualified candidates shall be proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook at a minimum.

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school or GED equivalent with specialized course work in general office practices such as data entry, filing, accounting and bookkeeping, and two (2) years of increasingly responsible related experience, or any equivalent combination of related education and experience.

This position is not entitled to benefits with the Town of Montville. Non-Union. EOE

Assessor Clerk III, Assessor’s Office

$19.49/hr (eff 7-1-14); $19.98 (eff 7-1-15) – 40 hours Monday through Friday – 8:00AM–4:30PM.  Union position with Benefits.

Assists the Assessor in performing activities and administers the statutory responsibilities of the Assessor’s Office. This includes a variety of routine and complex technical field and office work in the appraisal of all commercial, residential, motor vehicles and/or personal property.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • (A) Graduation from high school or GED equivalent plus one (1) years progressively responsible experience in real estate appraisal work plus one CCMA certified assessor course
  • (B) Graduation from high school or GED equivalent plus (2) years progressively responsible experience in real estate appraisal work
  • (C) Or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS – Must have the ability to read and understand legal descriptions and appraisal manuals; ability to accurate appraise real and personal property; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Must have valid State of CT driver’s license, or ability to obtain one.
