Recreation Program Descriptions

Below you will find general descriptions of the programs offered by the Montville Parks and Recreation Department throughout the year. For details regarding when a specific program will be held, registration requirements and fees, please click on the specific program on the Main Page of the Parks and Recreation Department.

 

 Recreation Program Descriptions

Gymnastics
Eight-week programs held at the Town Hall Gym.  These 8-week sessions are offered throughout the year. 
   
Judo 
Ten-week programs held at the Town Hall Gym.  These 10-week sessions run Fall through Spring (not offered during the summer.)
   
Youth Basketball
A Fall/Winter Program held at various locations in town.
   
Youth Wrestling
A Fall/Winter Program held at Fair Oaks School. Open to youth in grades 3 through 8. Fees vary.
   
Youth Golf

This class is open for Youth and Adults, meets for five weeks.

 

   
Summer Camp

8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily for seven weeks beginning the end of June through the mid-August. Summer Camp is open only to Montville Residents. There are no extended hours offered.  The Summer Camp Program offers a wide variety of activities for the children. Day trips to the bowling alley, the roller skating rink, etc., are offered for a nominal fee. Watch for special announcements for the registration period.

   
Babysitting Classes

A one-day babysitting class is generally offered a couple of times per year for youth ages 11 and up.  This class is held at various locations (typically on a Saturday) . Call the Parks & Recreation Office at 860.848.3030, for class dates and more information.
