The Social Services Department provides immediate assistance and crisis intervention for Montville residents. The Department also raises some of its own funds to supplement sources of assistance and offer additional resources.
Some programs are Holiday Food and Toy Baskets, supplemental and emergency food, supplemental and emergency energy assistance, clothing bank, crisis and hardship intervention and assistance, emergency shelter, resource & referral assistance, and liaison and advocacy services.
A pamphlet describing the Department and its functions is available at either the Social Services Building or the Senior Center. Also, the Senior Center puts out a monthly newsletter, The Montville Silver Times, which can be found at either office as well as various locations throughout town.
