Notice of Decision - Tree Removal Butlertown Road

A public hearing was held on Thursday June 11, 2026 at 10am at the intended tree for removal across the street from #232 Butlertown Road.

Overview:  The tree was tagged on May 28th by the Town Tree Warden due to the road improvement project and needing to widen and pave the road due to the condition of the road.  This tree sits within the guidelines of the 22 feet required for the width of the road improvement.  In addition the tree is compromised toward the top of the tree that will impose a hazard in the future.

Conclusion & Decision:  A public hearing was held to provide transparency around the removal of the tree and to give residents the opportunity to learn more about the specifics and voice their concerns.  The decision of the Tree Warden is to approve the removal of the tree.  The schedule for removal will be announced by posting on the town website.

According to the sec.23-59, “Any party aggrieved by this decision may, within ten days, appeal therefrom to the superior court for the judicial district”.
