The Department is responsible for strategic long-range planning while promoting the compatible use of land throughout the Town of Montville. The Department accomplishes this by:
- Routinely evaluating land characteristics;
- Guiding residents and businesses regarding property use and subdivision;
- Tracking and analyzing demographic changes;
- Promptly processing land use applications;
- Monitoring market influences upon housing needs and economic development;
- Promoting development opportunities to investors; and
- Enforcing municipal land use regulations and codes.
